This ground beef with beans and polenta is a hearty and flavorful baked dish that combines seasoned ground beef, red beans and creamy polenta with melted cheese. It is a comforting meal with a delicious combination of savory, spicy and slightly smoky flavors.

The ground beef is first cooked with onion, red bell pepper, garlic and a blend of spices, including chili flakes, cumin, paprika and oregano. Chopped tomatoes and water are then added, creating a rich and flavorful sauce. Cooked red beans are stirred in at the end to make the filling even more satisfying.

The meat and bean mixture is transferred to a baking dish and topped with a simple polenta mixture made with Edam cheese, egg and milk. More grated cheese is sprinkled on top before baking until golden and beautifully set.

This ground beef with beans and polenta is perfect for a filling family lunch or dinner. It can also be prepared ahead of time and baked when you’re ready to serve it.
